Anyone planning to visit Muvico should be aware that Muvico Rosemont recently had a patron arrested and charged with a felony for taking video during a birthday party. Apparently the patron recorded several minutes of a feature film, and management insisted on pressing charges under a law designed to criminalize theft of movies for commercial bootlegging purposes.

What the patron did was undoubtedly stupid, but management insisted on pressing charges, which landed the patron in jail over the weekend, and may land her with a felony conviction.

Because of course she was going to take her four minutes of "pirated movie" and sell it for big money. Yeah, she deserves to be branded a felon. Riight.

Go to a birthday party at Muvico, get a free two-night stay in jail. That'd be a great coupon for the Entertainment Book next year.
