The Informers
Sex, drugs, and new wave...Los Angeles in the early 1980s: a time of excess and decadence, and Bret Easton Ellis coadapts his own acclaimed novel for the screen.

Its multistrand narrative balances a vast array of characters, who represent both the top of the heap (a Hollywood dream merchant, a dissolute rock star, an aging newscaster) and the bottom (a voyeuristic doorman and an amoral ex-con). Connecting his intertwining strands are the quintessential Ellis protagonists-a group of beautiful, blonde young men and women who sleep all day and party all night, doing drugs-and one another-with abandon, never realizing that they are dancing on the edge of an abyss.

Gregor Jordan returns to Sundance (Two Hands and Buffalo Soldiers played at previous Festivals) with a glamorous and gritty exposé of a culture where too much was never enough. He presents both the seductive and repellent sides of a time when safe sex meant being on the pill.

A scathing descent into the morally bankrupt core beneath L.A.'s superficial beauty, it is both titillating and horrifying as it captures an era on the verge of an implosion whose effects we are still feeling today.

Starring Billy Bob Thornton, Kim Basinger, Winona Ryder, Mickey Rourke, Brandon Routh, Austin Nichols, Ashley Olsen, Jon Foster, Lou Pucci, Amber Heard, Chris Isaak, Diego Klattenhoff, Rhys Ifans

Mil Mascaras vs. the Aztec Mummy
Mil Mascaras is a renaissance man of international repute. He is a connoisseur of the arts, a scholar of science and humanity, and a masked wrestler.

Like his fellow luchadores, El Santo and Blue Demon, Mil Mascaras is often called upon to assist the authorities in combating threats to mankind, whether they are seductive vampire women, lycanthropic madmen, or invaders from other worlds. However, no threat has ever been greater than that posed by the Aztec mummy.

In this story, the Aztec mummy is resurrected by the power of the gem of Tonauac. Using its power, the Aztec mummy is able to control the minds of men, even those of strong pedigree and erudition. Determined to lead the ascendancy of the Aztec nation over the descendants of its past conquerors, the Aztec mummy conspires to manipulate men of power for his own ends.

Whether Mil Mascaras can be corrupted by the influence of his undead adversary is not clear, but the answer hinges upon the secret of his mask -- a mask which has been passed down to him from his ancestors since time in memoriam.

Starring Mil Mascaras, Jeffrey Uhlman, Willard E. Pugh, Gary Ambrosia, PJ Soles

Tyson
A portrait of Mike Tyson which allows Tyson to reveal himself without inhibition and with eloquence and a pervasive vulnerability. Through a mixture of original interviews and archival footage and photographs, a startlingly complex, fully-rounded human being emerges.

The film ranges from Tyson's earliest memories of growing up on the mean streets of Brooklyn through his entry into the world of boxing, to his rollercoaster ride in the funhouse of worldwide fame and fortunes won and lost. It is the story of a legendary and uniquely controversial international athletic icon, a figure conjuring radical questions of race and class.

In its depiction of a man rising from the most debased circumstances to unlimited heights, destroyed by his own hubris, "Tyson" emerges as a modern day version of classic Greek tragedy.
