New Releases

The following are new releases opening in theaters in the next week.

Big Fan
For legions of people, sports teams are religion, and their favorite players are their idols. This notion sparks the hilarious premise of Big Fan, the exhilarating directing debut from Robert Siegel, the screenwriter of The Onion Movie and The Wrestler.

Paul Aufiero, a 35-year-old parking-garage attendant from working-class Staten Island, is the self-described "world's biggest New York Giants fan." One night Paul and his best friend, Sal, spot star Giants linebacker Quantrell Bishop at a gas station in Staten Island. They impulsively follow his SUV into Manhattan to a strip club, where they finally muster up the courage to talk to their hero.

What starts out as a dream come true turns into a nightmare as a misunderstanding ignites a violent confrontation, and Paul is sent down a path that will test his devotion to the extreme.

The September Issue
An intimate, funny and surprising look at Anna Wintour, editor-in-chief of "Vogue" magazine for 20 years, and her team of larger-than-life editors as they create this must-have Bible of fashion.

Filmmaker R.J. Cutler explores the untouchable glamour of Wintour's Vogue to reveal the extraordinarily passionate people at its heart. He takes us behind the scenes at Fashion Week, to Europe, on shoots and reshoots, and into closed-door staff meetings, bearing witness to an arduous, entertaining, and sometimes emotionally demanding process.

At the eye of this annual fashion hurricane is the two-decade relationship between Wintour and Grace Coddington, incomparable creative director and fashion genius. The Tent: Life in the Round
"The Tent: Life in the Round" tells the story of the Rhode Island institution known as the Warwick Musical Theatre through archival footage and interviews.

The film will remind those who were lucky enough to attend a show that WMT was a labor of love that continues to exemplify the power and importance of hard work, family, generosity and the human spirit. It's hard to believe that nearly 10 years have passed since the Warwick Musical Theatre began its final season.

Buster and Barbara Bonoff were a living example of the American dream come true -- they took a love and passion for the performing arts and against all odds, made it into their living. For 45 years the top names in entertainment graced the stage and along the way, the Bonoffs positively affected the lives and endeared themselves to the hundreds of employees who worked for them and the thousands of theatergoers who attended performances during WMT's multi-decade run.

The film includes familiar faces from WMT and famous ones too like Bobby Vinton, Carrot Top, Engelbert Humperdinck, Howie Mandel, Huey Lewis, Louie Anderson, Mel Tillis, Vince Gill, and Wynonna Judd.

Starring Bobby Vinton, Carrot Top, Engelbert Humperdinck, Howie Mandel, Huey Lewis
