It was renovated in 1972 but closed in 1977. It reopened in 1984 as the River City Playhouse to host live performances. It became a night club called Club5 in 1991. It reopened as the 5 Points Theatre in 2008. In Dec 2011, it was known as the Sun-Ray Cinema @ 5 Points. By Jul 2022, it was known as Sun-Ray Cinema.
