Built in 1928. Theater closed Jul 2011, operated by Nova Cinemas as the Geneva 4 Theatre. It opened in Mar 2017 as the Geneva Theater. It was renamed to the Geneva Stage in 2020/2021, with renovations that replaced two auditoriums with a "Geneva Tap House" and the balcony theater was opened back up to the main auditorium, which features a retractable movie screen. It primarily hosts live performances.

I was so disappointed when I went to the Geneva Theater after renovation. This theater had a history and I thought they were restoring what was there and keeping the feel of the past. It was a beautiful place just run down. Mayb to the point they couldn't keep its old world charm too bad. B U T the worse thing of all the seats were awful. When i sat down all I could see was the seat in front of me blocking The screen. Had to use the booster seat( gotta b kiding) and even with that if someone would have sat in front of me I wouldn't have seen half the screen. There were 8 people in the row and all of them were complaining!, would only return if forced to. Was really looking forward to seeing the Reno , well......

Went to see "The Promise" when it opened in this theater. Considering its age, I wasn't sure what to expect but I was pleasantly surprised. There was still some work in progress but otherwise the theater was very clean, the staff very helpful and the seats were comfortable. They might not be like those at a 12-plex but I was able to lean back and get comfortable. I was a bit disappointed that the Icee machine wasn't working (don't think they started it yet) but there was ice cream along with soda, water, popcorn, etc. I will be going back!

Saw "Beauty and the Beast" at Friday afternoon showing at the newly reopened Geneva Theater. It's been a long time since I saw a movie that brought on applause at the end. This happened today. I think we not only loved the movie, but are thrilled at the re-opening of this historic theater in downtown Lake Geneva. Theater feels very well-run. Nice, personable touch to be welcomed by the manager, Dan, at the beginning of the showing. Friendly staff. Little girls dressed as Belle attended and were lined up for the next showing. Congrats for the wide range of timely movie options. Feels like lots of community possibilities in the venue and imaginative potential.

This theater is quite old and perhaps, fairly rundown. It is a very small theater: 3 or 4 movies.

However, the tickets are not overly expensive and it is in a prime location. It's nice to take an evening stroll by the lake, have dinner, grab a coffee, and then hit up a movie all in walking distance in quaint downtown Lake Geneva, WI.

Worth a try, I'd say...
