2005-10-28: The running time has been confirmed by studio execs as being three hours.

Directed by Peter Jackson; his first project after the highly successful The Lord of the Rings series. Jackson has stated that the 1933 original was why he got into making movies, and he intends to remain faithful to the original as much as possible.

Andy Serkis will be providing the motion capture for Kong, much as he did for Gollum in The Lord of the Rings movies.
