View movie reviews   The Counterfeiters (Die Falscher) Academy Award® Winner Towards the end of World War II, the Nazis forged millions in foreign currency in order to weaken the enemy's economy using a counterfeiting plant with prisoners in the concentration camp in Sachsenhausen. They had a choice: if they cooperated with the enemy, they had a chance to survive, as first-class prisoners in a "golden cage" with enough to eat and a bed to sleep in. If they sabotaged the operation, a sure death awaited them. For them, it was not only a question of saving their own lives, but about saving their conscience as well...
