Outstanding movie, well written, well directed and most all, well acted.

A "Rocky," a tale of working class Lowell MA who "made" it with a lot of struggle, a story of a family with all kinds of warts came together....Yes, all those things. Mark Wahlberg is very good. Amy Adams plays a wonderful friend. But...is there anything that makes the film a cut above the normal? I don't think so.

I like "the Fighter," but in reality. It isn't Oscar material. KIf I were an Academy Awards voter, (and I'm not) I probaby wouldn't vote for thsat movie. It'll probay get the best picture Oscar nomination, but if that movie does, I won't be cheering. I've seen this movie before. Mark Wahlberg plays a guy stuck in a working class neighborhood has rose though the ranks of boxer. If it wren't for the performance of Amy Adams, I wouldn't even approve the movie. She plays a aweet role as her boyfriend. I love her performance. If she a Oscar nomination for her performance, I would be cheering. She's better than the movie.

A Rocky remake at best. I don't know how the picture was at the theater anybody else saw it at, but mine was bad.The picture didn't fill the screen from top to bottom. A lot of times the tops of the heads were cut off. The sound was bad also, way to much base to hear what they were saying. I asked the manager and they said thats the way the film was made, if so I hope to never see another like it. Besides the bad display the movie was just the same old thing, nothing to see here folks.

Go see this one. In ordinary hands this could have been a predictable movie from a worn out story. But it's told by excellent craftsmen and the predictable story gets told very originally and beautifully. Very much worth seeing more than once. All the principle actors are exceptionally good - especially Christian Bale. Boxing scenes are excellent (and I hate boxing).
