This 1961 classic is a remake of a 1937 movie which was a remake of a 1933 Lillian Heilman's play about a child's lie that two female teachers is a lesbian lovers. the 1937 version of "the Children's Hour" (titled "These Three") had remove all lesbian references. Now with the 1961 version, the movie returns to the play. Andrey Hepburn and Shirley MacLaine are teacher in a New England school where one of the children told a lie that the two teachers are lesbians. When that lie came out, their jobs are in danger. but the kid maybe half right. One of the two teacher is in fact, a lesbian. This movie teach us about how a lie can destroyed someone elses' life. This film has broken ground in the discussion of Gay and lesiban issuers. the real breakthough won't come in 1968 when "The Fox" was released, featuring the first kiss between two women.
