The Dirty Dozen is considered a classic war movie by many people. but after watching it recently, I found that it hasn't aged well. It's still enjoyable, but I think its appeal is reduced with each passing year. The reason that it gets the rating I've assigned is that the characters feel real and much of the movie is not forced or blatantly obvious in what it's trying to do. There are plenty of holes in the story if you think about it too hard, but the hallmark of any good movie is that it's enjoyable in spite of any holes, not because they are not there.
