"Tammy" is a movie that is one big trainwreck. Melissa McCarthy who hasn't been in a good movie since her camo in "This is 40" has thrown herself over a cliff and believe me, it a long way down. This is a movie that doesn't make sense of it's lead character; a girl name Tammy who after wrecking her car and got fired at a burger joint, she goes on a road trip with her grandmother played by Susan Sarandon. Her character is confusing. I don't know whatever to laugh at her or feeling sorry for her. Doesn't anybody in the movie figure out what's her problem is besides being mean and throw stuff at a business establish. She may have a mental illness, but that fact wasn't brought up in this movie. Besides being mean to people, she rants for stuff that i don't understand. Her character doesn't work, therefore this movie doesn't work at all.She's lucky to have a job on a weekly comedy series "Mike and Molly." I don't watch the show and I don't know anyone who does.

Love watching Melissa McCarthy in any movie she was cute in this one but it was not a good movie at all. Susan Sarandon didn't belong in this movie and they kinda threw in Kathy Bates and Sandra Oh for ? which didn't have much of a part.

The movie has some far-fetched moments but it is all done in wacky fun! The worst thing about the movie is who they have for the characters mainly because of their ages and trying to picture them in the roles they were cast! Susan Sarandon is only 24 yrs older than Melissa McCarthy but is playing her grandmother! Dan Aykroyd is barely old enough to play the father while Allison Janney would have been 11 when she had "Tammy". I guess Kathy Bates as the cousin could be any age but her life partner is 23 years younger!
