The year 2015 is filled with news ab out Bruce Jenner's journey from a man to a woman. That's all good and people can accept that, but watching "The Danish Girl" reminds me of Bruce's journey. But the film which stars Eddie Redmayne as a man who wanted to be a girl doesn't do much/. His wife is played by Alicia Vikander who watch his transformation. The film takes place in 1926 where transgender people are not accepted., They treated this sort of thing as a mental illness. That transformation which led to a book on the subject whjich was published in 1933. the problem I had with the movie, that I know that Eddie Redmayne and Alicia Vikander gave good performance, but the film doesn't do much to support their journey. It's like watching a dull movie without any shock values. If that movie was made 30 years ago, I would shock audiences. But this movie didn't even get the audience including me involve in the transformation. Had this movie were given more energhy and the film made us care about the characters, then we may have something.
