"Boyhood" is a film about a boy who grows up in front of our eyes. It's a movie that is 12 years in the making. and And you think that filming the Lord of the Rings Triliogy over a sixteen month period is worth something. This movie looks at the life a you boy who grows over a 12 year period from childhoos to late teen. This is director Richard Linklater's answer to the 1959 classic "The 400 Blows." If you ask me, it is a cross between "The 400 Blows" and "The Best Years of Our Lives." So this movie has a running time of 2 hours and 45 minutes long. It's very long, but it's very good. At least I got my time by when I saw "Transformers: Age of Extinctiom." Watching newcomer Ellar Cotranne go from age 6 to 18 is nothing short of a miracle. It's also nice to see Patricia Arquette back on the big screen again.I also like Lorelei Linklater as thre boy's sister is very good. This is a total different and totally brilliant movie that you have got to see.

A well put together story and a well done production. It is a joy to see an actor grow through a role. I would say it was a but too long though.
