A film that tells the story about the man who broke the Nazi code, but never got the credit or the fame until after his death. Benedict Cumberbatch play Alan Turing, a british Mathematican who is assigned to break the Nazi code and with help from Keira Knightly who gave an appealing performance. Not mucgh about the British code breakers has been taught in history classes, but I hope with this movie, they will start teaching about him and his work. His work has lead to the invention of computers. So the next time I write something on the computer I will be thinking of Alan Turing.

This movie is deeply moving. One of the best movies I've ever seen, I think all the more so because it's a true story.

This film is the best I have seen in a long long time. Bennedict Cumberbatch is superb as a brilliant mathematician, probably suffering from Asperger's syndrome and OCD who is hired by the MI6 to break the Nazi code.

The filming is partitioned in 3 time frames.....the early years of Turing's adolescence where we glimpse at his homosexuality, his years as he creates what is probably the first computer and the year before his death where he is charged as a homosexual and is give a chemical treatment versus imprisonment.

It is a hear wrenching performance by mr Cumberbatch. He can masterfully bring to life a seemingly cold yet complex individual, suffering from solitude and repression and turn him into an endearing troubled soul. His performance is truly amazing and deserving of an Oscar.

Keira Knightly, the only female bright enough to challenge Turing helps him to integrate into the social aspect of the team to help break the German enigma code. She understands him and credits him with the accomplishments that he so deserving.

I want to add a very personal note. My favorite actress is Meryl Streep because of her ability to take on any role and make us truly believe in the character and now I can say that Bennedict Cumberbatch is my favorite male actor.

He single handedly made this film outstanding. I recommend it to all who wish a mind breaking, heartbreaking film

Good drama based on history.

This is one of those movies that is so beautifully crafted and so well acted that you want to watch it often.

It largely falls upon the shoulders of Benedict Cumberbatch to carry the movie as Alan Turing, but he is supported very ably by a large cast of characters, including Kiera Knightley as his intellectual colleague and the closest thing he has to a best friend.

It is the fact that it is an ensemble effort that makes it work so well, I think. The relationships are believable and the storyline is very interesting.

I find myself revisiting this movie from time to time, and I've recommended it (and I think, purchased it) for others. Once you've seen it in its entirety, you can watch just a few scenes and enjoy it that way as well. However, you may find yourself watching the entire thing, so be warned that you may spend more time than you originally planned!
