After a slow start to the Maze Runner Series, the series picks up steam with the second installment of the series titles. The Scorch trials. In the first movie Thomas and the Gladers are trapped in a prison inside a huge maze which is guarded by monsters. In the second movie, Dylan and the Gladers are still on the run, excewpt it's outside the maze and the running becomes more and more dangerous; battling Zomoie like peopel and a powerful organization called WGKD who is using experients on the young people. Dylan is the key, not only to the group, but the series in gerneral. Another thing that I like about the second movie is that we see the world outside the maze as he and the gladers go from one destroyed city to another and hopes they won't be caught.

The Maze Runner book series is one of my favorites of all time, and The Scorch Trials strays poorly away from the book. There is a right way and a wrong way to move away from the source material in a book to movie adaptation, and this movie did it wrong. Not only that, but this movie's 2 hour and 12 minute run time felt like it was 4 hours and 12 minutes instead. The supposed "thrilling action" was muddy and incoherent with shaky cam. Just a poor adaptation of a great book.
