The third remake of the classic novel by Rudyard Kipling who alkso wrote "Gunga Din" and "the Man who Would Be King." Both movie are made in movies. If you follow both the 1940 and the 1967 animated version of the movie, you won't have trouble following this version which was directed by Jon Faveau who did "Iron Man." A young boy name Mowgli played by newcomer Neel Setha was raised by wolves was told to go to the man village or else the tiger will get him. there are two different things that separate the 1967 and the 2016 version. the 1967 version is animated version and the 2016 version is live action with plenty of special effects. It's also a tad violent, so keep in m ind as you see this new version of The Jungle book. Apr 21, 2016
Very well done, not for younger kids, but great for the older kids. May 19, 2016

Jun 26, 2016 Let me preface this review with this: I am not a huge fan of the original animated Jungle Book. That being said, holy crap I enjoyed every second of this one. For being a mixture of live action and CG adaptation of a pre-existing animated film, this was such an incredible cinematic journey that director Jon Favreau took the audience on. Everything was absolutely beautiful visually. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time, fully immersed in the world. Bill Murray, Ben Kingsly, and Idris Elba were gold as Baloo, Bagheera, and Shere Khan respectively. Also giving great voice performances were Scarlett Johansson as Kaa and Christopher Walken as King Louie. The whole movie blew me away with how realistic it seemed. A great, entertaining film-start to finish. I never wanted it to end. While maybe a little bit too gritty realistic for extremely young children, almost any other age will appreciate this movie.
