A musical with fantastic musical numbers, and that's about it. Check out my full thoughts here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dhDP77uzaRU Jan 9, 2018
I didn't expect the movie to be as great as "La La Land," and critics aren't liking this film, (53% according to Rotten Tomatoes) but I like the movie not because of the story line but because of the high energy musical numbers. Hugh Jackman in his first outing since "Logan" really does sing, probably too perfect. He plays PT Brrnum who organized a circus where freaks are welcome and excitement fills the air. I love the music numbers. one of those songs won the Golden Globe for best song. Michelle Williams (All the Money in the world) plays his faithful wife, Zac Efron plays his partner and Zendaya ( who might be confused with Beyonce) play one of the performers. The circus performers faced the hate and the prejudice that many of us faced today. Aside from the music, this movie teaches us tolerance. An important lesson that came from this movie. Jan 17, 2018
Good move with great music and good story line Jan 21, 2018
My best friend first suggested this movie to me. I was a little hesitant about seeing it because it was about the circus. After seeing it, I was so glad that I had. This is a movie that perfectly combines music and acting into a amazing story. This is a good movie for families and people of all ages(although young children may not understand it). This movie has now become one of my favorite of all time(even next to Harry Potter). Jan 28, 2018
A slightly fluffy and thin story, backed up by exceedingly impressive musical numbers and choreography. Jackman is great, as always, but the script isn't anything noteworthy. Basically, the movie is enjoyable, but the soundtrack is the best part by far. Looking for more opinions?Check out our Featured Movie Reviews for The Greatest Showman. |
