"La La Land: is a musical which reminds people that musicals could still be made. It's like the musical of the 1940's and 1950's except it is rated PG-13 so the people in the movie will do things that the Production Code back then won't allow them to do. the film open with a musical number as people get out of their cares and singing and dancing. One of my favorite musical moments in the movie. It remind me of a 1993 music video where people in those cars would get out and walk away. Only this musical scene is more upbeat. the film focus on two people, (Ryan Gosling, Emma Stone) one is a performer and the other is an actress who must bond together in order to achieve their dreams. the film also talks about the importance of Jazz and how in the words of John Legend, is the music of the future. I listen to jazz once in a while and i wish more people did to appreciate is beauty. Overall, the film is a celebration of the music and the people who make them. the places they visit in Los Angeles comes alive. The town is the real star of the movie and the people in the movie gave the city it's life. "La La Land" is so good, you need to see it more than once, just to appreciate the music alone.

La La Land is hands down the best film of the year. Gosling and Stone turn out some of the best performances of their respective careers, and are confirmed to be two of the most charismatic actors working in films today. The fact that nearly every dance number was one simple tracking shot was stunning, because it meant that they had to get it right with one take. The film, the music, the performances, the camera shots, the dance numbers, the story, the setting, the script, and the direction are all perfect start to finish. Do yourself a favor and go see this movie.

Good movie.
Several slow areas kind of break the flow of the action. The story needs flow better and be more coherent.
The music was good.

La La Land is very heavy on the ooo la la, and even for a hopeless romantic, it was a bit over the top. While I enjoyed watching it, I wouldn't go out of my way to see it again.
