I*'m glad that "Room" made it to my town at the Alamo Drafthouse. Otherwise I had to wait for it come after the Oscar announcements in January. But I pick "Room": as the best movie of 2015, maiunly because it's a movie unlike any other movie that I saw this year. It's a movie that won't be copied or rehashed. It''s turly a one of a kind movie that stands out from the rest. Brie Larson plays a movie who along with her son Jacob Tremblay are trapped in a room be held captive by her husband. Her son is 5 and doesn't know life outside the room. he only know the outside world though the window at top of the room. Though faith of it's own the two finally escape. Only to face a bigger challenge; adjusting to life outside the room. The cast is terrific. I had to mention Joan Allen. she's the stand out and I haven't seen her on the big screen in years. I'm glad I did. I miss her very much. There are going to be a lot of blockbuster movie and If that movie is playing at a theatre right now, it's best to see it right now. Otherwise you'll be missing the best movie of the year.

Room is directed by Lenny Abrahamson and stars Brie Larson as Joy/Ma and Jacob Tremblay as her 6-year-old Jack. The story is one of incredible emotion. Room is based on the novel by Emma Donoghue. It is about a woman named Joy who is kidnapped and raped, held captive for 9 years. Her captor impregnates her and she gives birth to Jack. She has to raise Jack in a single shack, known as Room, where Jack grows up not knowing the outside world. Eventually the escape, and the film then has to tell the story of Jack first being exposed to an outside world he had no idea existed. This movie made me feel every emotion possible to feel multiple times each. A beautifully heartwrenching film from start to finish. Brie Larson easily deserved the Best Actress Oscar. Ironically, two nominees for best actress from 2015 played a character named Joy. Coincidence?
