Very disappointd in this film. Slow moving and very poorly done. Anyone who has ever played golf will pick this apart and go home feeling as though he just had his pocket picked.

There is no compelling reason to see this in the movie theatre, and I think it would be more enjoyable to watch this at home anyway so that you have more opportunity to get up, stretch, move around, and maybe talk to some friends during the more predictable; which, would be just about all of it; parts.

Matt Damon's talents were not overly taxed in this film, and certainly not Will Smith's. In trying to remember much of the movie, it seems to be a haze -- which lends one to believe, was there anything about that movie that wasn't pointless? "A grip on a man's club is like a grip on a man's life." Alright. "A grip on a man's..." Ok, I got you the first time... "A grip on..." Please, enough; not again!

Me being a Robert Redford fan, I should of known when ever he directs his Movies he always makes them slow moving and boring. I am not sure why but he always seems to drag things out.

Even if you like Golf this movie would still make you want to get up from your seat evey now and then to take a walk. I would say even if you like these Actors in the movie You would be better off to wait and see it on video. At least then you can turn it off if you can't stand it and watch Tv.

Another compelling performance from Director Robert Redford. "The Legend of Beggar Vance" is a drama about the 1928 golf championship inwhcih involes a World War One veteran played by Matt Damon who left the game over the tramatic experience he had during the war. Will Smith in the title character of Beggar Vance who became a hey to Damon's recovery from the horrors of the war. Smith deserved an Oscar nomination for his performance. Another good performance comes from Charlize Theron as Damon's love intrest. Theron remins me of a young Jessica Lange. I wouldn't dare ends this review without the mention of the music score by Rachel Portman. It's wonderful to hear. Jack Lennon makes a cameo appearance in this film. "The Legend of Baggar Vance" is wonderfuland full of good performances.
