While The Big Sick may be labelled as a romantic comedy, don't let that fool you. This movie is so much more than that, and has something for everybody to appreciate.

Don't let the title fool you. Despite the title, "The Big Sick" is a romantic movie between two people; A Pakistan born comedian and girl name Emily, while their old fashioned parents tried to set up dyes with a lot of women from his old country, without their knowledge of their relationship. then when Emily turns violently ill, the film takes a new direction and I was suck into the movie.Despite what happen this movie is incredibly funny and well written. The cast is incredible with Kumail Nanjiani as Kurnail, who wanted to break into the stand up comic circle. He faces two problems, 1) If the material he presented on stage is funny and 2) hecklers, especially in one scene who some guy shout out his connection to Isis. Zoe Kazan gave a sweet performance as his faithful girlfriend. Also appearing in the movie are Ray Romano and Holly Hunter. Both gave excellent performances as their parents. the film is both funny and touching. If you don't like the title of the movie, ignore it and see the movie. it's much better than you think.

Very good movie well written but can't these directors/producers finish a movie, the end was kind of left up in the air according to my thoughts but acceptable according to others that really get you upset sitting there watching the whole movie.....

This movie catches you off guard. It is a little slow to begin with, but it sucks you in for and emotional ride. Well done!
