I don't think that the new "Dumbo" will ever be as good as the 1941 animated version of the movie But it has something that he movie version don't, more time and better special effects. if you can recall events from the the 1941 Dumbo. the film took place in 1919 as Colin Farrell returns from the war, missing one arm and his wife to Spanish flu outbreak, leaving him with two kids to care for. The owner of the circus is played by Danny DeVito. He and other circus employees came upon a baby elephant. "Dumbo" is a baby elephant who long ears has been picked on by the crowds. During circus acts, he was thrown into a carriage and paraded though the audiences like he was a prop. Until one night during a clown act, he can fly though the sky, until evil promoters noticed his act. Like I said before, the film isn't as good as the 1941 version, but it had a lot going for it. the special effects are amazing the cinematography are great. I love the relationship between dumbo and his mother. I can't reveal the ending, but you got to see the ending. Rotten Tomatoes had the movie at 47%. I wish it could gone high. My advice, ignore rotten fruit and see this movie.
