When I saw the trailer for "Annihiation," I feel as if I was looking forward to a great movie. I also though the tile is cool. Probably the coolest title ever. Until I actually saw the movie, All I saw was five women with issues taking on a changing world inwhich all of them were caught up. Natalie Portman, who came off her Oscar nomination in "Jackie," plays the leader of a group of women who enter a weird world, which everything changes from plant life to human life. Even the girl had felt the change. One of them is turning into a plant. the need to go to that lighthouse,(or Area X) the origin of what's going on to figure out what happens. Along the way they ran into creature. One a mutated Alligator, another is the cross breed between a bear and a boar and a remade deer. Wen need more creatures in this movie. also, I like to see the women fight like girls, not girls fighting like they came home from a bad date. the film is based on the book by Jeff VnderMeer. which is a bit scary, but needs more than that. the only scary moment is when the girls came upon a group of people that became plant people. Too bad the movie never got any better. In addition to Portman, the cast includes Gina Rodriguez (I follow her on Twitter), Tess Thompson and Jennifer Jason Leigh. this film deserve better than this.

A thrilling think piece, Annihilation is brought to us by director Alex Garland, who also came out with Ex Machina a few years back. Annihilation isn't necessarily one you need to be jumping out of your seat to go see, but if you like a movie with substance that will make you think about what you're seeing, this one's for you.

An incredible genre film, that make you think, rather than dulls you.
