I don't have to attend the screening of "Chappequiddick" since I know all about what happen in July 1969 by heart, but nerveless I had to see this film as well as review it because not many people knows anything about history., especially when it took place in the 1960's. Edwin Kennedy is the sole survivor of the four Kennedy brothers, one died in World War 2 and the other two were assassinated. It was him that must carry on from the other three. as the film open, Edwin is talking about taking back the White House from President Nixon. But after what happen after the accident which killed his companion in the car Mary Jo Kopechine , his future has change. this incident is so big, it nearly know the moon landing off the front pages. This movie isn't just about the accident, it's about the aftermath in which Edwin Kennedy battle the press about rumors which surround the accident. Jason Clark did a great job of playing the embattled Senator which it nearly cost his political career. Bruce Dern has made a great presence as his father. He can only mutter a few words, but his presence is well-noted. I recommend this movie for those who spend their time sleeping in history classes. This movie is great history and great storytelling about what happen in Massachusetts the Summer of 1969. You need to see this movie.
