A wonderful documentary a man name Fred Rogers TV show revolves around a neighborhood. As the movie opens Fred rogers who wanted to get into the priesthood, decide to get into television and created his own television series that doesn't include clowns and pie being thrown in the face. Fred knows more than that. his show premiere on NET (which became PBS years later) in 1968 less than a month after the tet offense singling the beginning of the end of the Vietnam War. In June, after Robert F. Kennedy was assassinated in Los Angles, he devoted the show to violence. Fred feels if kids are afraid they need to be there for them. Fred always tells the truth and he never talk down to them, there are two things that should be in the documentary but wasn't; 1) On Maude, Walter has a crush on the female character from the show. 2) "Love Boat" actress Lauren Tewes who got fired from the show is experiencing drug problems, has hooked up with Mr. Rogers on television and though him has save her life. One of the best moments in the movie is when he met a kid in a wheelchair who is facing a life threaten surgery, Years later and and Mr. Rogers had a reunion with that him, now, Now a grown man. He keeps telling kids that they're special and always be yourself. What I like about Mr. rogers is that his house is always clean. Mr. Rogers has always been a important part of television history and this movie proves why. Feb 23, 2019
A tribute to a great man who led by means opposite of what we are all accustomed to in current times. I'm pretty certain that his show would not even get a chance to succeed on the airwaves today, even though its messages are needed now more than ever. If you grew up with Mr. Rogers, you'll love taking this opportunity to revisit him, his show, and the ensemble of supporting actors!
