I check Rotten Tomatoes and found that the movie is rank at 27%. I didn't think the movie is that bad. It's not a great movie, but a good movie none less. Steve Carell (saw him earlier in "Vice," that guy loves to get around) plays Mark Hogancamp an artist who brutally attack by five guys. He manages to survive, but not intact. His beating has left him a broken man and must rebuilt his life as he recreate a fictional village in Belgium name Marwen. With an all female unit which inspire from the people who are helping him, he manage to find redemption though that village and has got the courage to stand up to the people who beat him court. Hogancamp is obsessed with women's pumps and the thugs who beat him thinks he's gay. But with help, he manged to reclaim his dignity and it's an good film to watch. it may not a great movie, but Steve Carell's performance has made this film possible.
