This was an impulse watch while browsing through Amazon Prime and Netflix, looking for something to watch (it's on the former).

This is a notch above the typical made-for-Netflix movie that one comes across when perusing the digital aisles, looking for something to catch your attention. The movie exceeds the promise of the plot summary, so don't let that stop you.

There are a few recognizable faces in this production. The most obvious is Julia Ormond, who plays a sophisticated woman in charge of the gowns area of the department store in which the "ladies in black" all work, while Rachael Taylor (Transformers) does a great job as one of the store clerks, and Angourie Rice (Betty Brant from Spider-Man: Far From Home) is the newcomer that provides the most interesting character arc and the connective thread throughout the movie.

While its ending may be a little saccharine for the tastes of some, we didn't mind, as it was a perfectly fine way to wrap everything up and leave you pleased that you spent nearly two hours watching it all unfold. I daresay that it could be one of those movies that you keep on your watchlist to see whenever you might be in the mood for what it has to offer, and you don't want to spend 45 minutes trying to find something a page of choices at a time with your remote.
