Excellent! Excellent! Excellent! If you can sit through a long subtitled movie, (or even if you can't,)this one is worth the trip. Wonderful period piece with magnificent action, magnificent costumes and a magnificent story. This movie is a treat for the eyes and the mind. Wonderful visuals and an interesting story combine into a masterpiece of work.

The only thing that concerned me about the movie was the possible mis-treatment of the animals. There were a few times when wolves in the film clearly were being manipulated by trip wires and that concerns me. American-made films always include a statement at the end that no animals were harmed in the making of the film. I don't know what the French laws are about animals in films. And that part disturbed me.

But beyond that, this movie is definitely worth seeing! I highly recommend this movie for anyone who likes a film with a lot of substance to it.

This movie was great! The special effects were well placed as were the sound effects. The cinematoraphy was luscious, showing me an early French countryside that I would have died to live in.

The plot was so twistedly devious with parllels to Romeo and Juliet. The movie was so well done, that the fact it was subtitled was superflous. What a great movie!!!
