I happen to catch "Free Solo" on the IMAX screen. I haven't saw anything on the IMAX screen in six months. But seeing the movie is incredible. The documentary focus on rock climber Alex Honnold who climbs mountains without the use of a rope. Not anyone can do what Alex does. If he makes a mistake or makes a misstep, he's dead. Throughout the film Alex plans to scale El Capitan at Yosemite National park (No that park wasn't name after a Warner Brothers cartoon character) without the use of a rope. As Alex began to scale the mountain towards the end of the movie, I was on the edge of my seat. As he climbs, the cameras pans to the to ground to reminds viewers that he high he was. It was an incredible movie and if it's playing in your neighborhood, I urge you to see it. Looking for more opinions?Check out our Featured Movie Reviews for Free Solo: The IMAX 2D Experience. |
