I came into the theater with low expectation, but some reason I happen to like the movie. the reason is the elderly cheer team it's the performance from Diane Keaton that made me like the movie. Keaton plays Martha who is battling cancer, moved into a retirement home. the village with the carts looks like the TV series "The Prisoner," minus the giant balls. She befriended Sheryl played by Jackie Weaver, who formed a cheerleader squad made up of elderly people. I care more about Diane Keaton's battle against cancer than about her squad Her performance may have save this movie. Whatever Keaton appears on screen, all eyes, including my eyes are on Keaton. She brings life and joy to the movie. I've been following her career since "Annie Hall" in 1977 and I fell in love with her all over again. May 14, 2019
Good movie. Everybody didn't want it to end, there was a sigh when it ended. Love to see Diane Keaton movies. Liked Rhea Pulman and Pam Grier and more... Loved the sunny environment/background. Looking for more opinions?Check out our Featured Movie Reviews for Poms. |
