I really enjoyed the first installment, 'Knives Out' from 2019, and I was looking forward to seeing this movie. I loved the murder mystery with referential humor that Rian Johnson injected into the first movie, and I was interested to see where the second installment was going to go. The only returning character is investigator Benoit Blanc, played perfectly by Daniel "James Bond" Craig. He leads the investigation of the mystery, so he is the viewer's guide throughout the proceedings. Every other character is new, and is played very well by the likes of Edward Norton (channeling Elon Musk and Steve from 'The Italian Job'), Kate Hudson, Dave Bautista, and more. We even get cameos from Angela Lansbury, Hugh Grant, and others. When the credits rolled, I was doing the mental calculations of my impressions of what I just watched. My initial reaction is that I liked the movie, but maybe not as much as I enjoyed the first installment. I'm confident, however, that subsequent viewings will increase my enjoyment and regard for this well-crafted, well-acted, and well-done murder mystery movie.
