Comes close to a "see now". Some people may not appreciate the humor, but I sure did.

Rowan Atkinson is a very funny comedian from England. I liked the \"Mr. Bean\" series on PBS, even though I dislike the movie that came out in 1998. But my personal favorite from Atkinson is \"Blackadder,\" which is very funny. But as \"Johnny English,\" Atkinson can only be funny in a few scenes. Not much to laugh at. English is assinged to stop a mad frenchman from taking over the English throne. He is played by John Malkovich in a crediable role. Pop Star Natalie Imbruglia plays English\'s love intrest.(She had a top 40 hit in the US a few years ago. I saw the video in VH-1) Might as well stare at Imbruglia to get your money\'s wroth. \"Johnny English\" doesn\'t work as a James Bond spy spoof.

I think the guy sitting in front of me at the theater made me laugh more than the movie (he was busting a gut at the most stupid scenes). I'm a HUGE Black Adder and Bean fan, but sadly this is not Rowan at his best...but it's not his fault. It was a bad script - punchlines are seen a mile away - and poor direction.

I didn't care for this movie... It was a run-of-the-mill slapstick spy movie, almost like the humor in Pink Panther (which I don't love) but worse. It basically consists of the main character doing stupid stuff that is supposed to be funny and getting saved by his sidekick assistant or the supposed love interest, which doesn't constitute for a very good movie. While it may attract certain audiences; in my opinion, it is a movie better suited to being viewed at home rather than spending $10 (or more) at a theater.

Don't get me wrong, I like humor. it's just that the type of humor used in Johnny English isn't funny for me. It may be different for you. I would not recommend this for a family event. One part of the movie was in my opinion, not appropriate for younger children. I am not going to be watching Johnny English reborn anytime soon.
