King Arthur Historians have thought for centuries that King Arthur was only a myth, but the legend was based on a real hero, torn between his private ambitions and his public sense of duty. Close to a \"see now\", but it too often falls back on formulamatic action. Jul 11, 2004
I agree with Tom K in his exact words......but still a movie definitely worth seeing! Jul 12, 2004
King Arthur tries to capture the magic of The Lord of the Rings magic but falls short. Battle scenes are suppose to enrich a story not be the story. Much more character development is needed to support the plot (ie passions between Arthur and Guinevere). This is still a worth-while see, but expect action at expense of storyline and depth of characters. Jul 14, 2004
The roles of both Arthur and Guenivere were cast surprisingly well, and the plot included several surprisingly interesting asides which kept the rather long movie (over two hours) from making me a little drowsy. The romance aspect was definitely lacking, and I was hoping to see a bit more of Keira as G, but Clive Owen as Arthur somehow managed to be brave, loyal, honest, and sensual at the same time, which made it worth it. Unfortunately, it lacks that special something that makes you leave the theater a little breathless, but still a good movie worthy of being watched on the big screen. Jul 17, 2004
It was OK, but nothing special. Jul 20, 2004
Excellent movie! Best medieval war movie since Braveheart (and Braveheart is my favorite movie of all time). The action and fighting in this movie are so amazing that I personally will watch this movie over and over again because of the fighting scenes. Also, this movie gave a totally new perspective on how King Arthur's life was lived, and I mean VERY different from the tons of other stories I have heard. Overall, I think this movie is extremely good and I give this movie a 9/10. Looking for more opinions?Check out our Featured Movie Reviews for King Arthur. |
