One of the best movies of the year, and one of the best I have seen. I am not a big DiCaprio fan, but he puts on an Oscar winning performance here. See this now, as the big screen effect adds to the film, something you won't get with a rental. This was good enough that I would go back and see it again.

Be prepared, as it can get pretty dramatic and gory, and it is realistic.

I expected a standard action film, with a political message. The film FAR exceeded my expectations and is one of my Top 10 films of 2006. Excellent performances and cinematography.

"Blood Diamond" is a powerful movie set during the civil war in Sierra Leone, where the conflict is over the diamond industry. Lots of people were killed in that war, many has never see a diamond. Djimon Hounsou's family is captured, so with the aid of Leonardo Di Caprio, he makes an attempt to get his family back, and at the same time, try to retrieve a diamond which maybe wroth a lot of money. You could learn something from this movie. "Blood Diamond" also teaches us one of the tragic times in African history.
