"Starting Out in the Evening" is a great movie about the joy of writing novels. Frank Langella has graduated from character actor to leading man in the protrayal of a writer who life and family is being disrupted by a college graduate who doing a thesis on his life. Langella gave the performance of his life. And when I was at the theater the other day for the screening, there are people who are saying that Langella should have gotten that Oscar nomination for his role. I agree. Lauren Ambrose is perfect as the woman who entered his life to do her thesis and try in vain to fall in love with him and try to revive his writing career. Lili Taylor plays Langella' daughter who is in conflict with her father over the people that she is seeing. I love the movie very much and anyonbe who ever love to read will find this movie and Langella's performance very special indeed.
