The reason why I like "Miss Pettigrew lives for a Day" is the incredible performance by Amy Adams. She's fabulous! She again has made me smile. she was great in "Enchanted" and she was great again in this movie. Frances MacDormand may be glaous, but in this film, she plays plain Jane to the beautiful Adams. the film takes place in England in 1939 on the eve of World War Two. Adams hired MacDormand, not just her housekeeper, but her advisor. "Pettigrew" will grow on you. A wonderful comedy.
