Owen Wilson pretty much plays the same style of role he has in so many movies (the philosophizing, good vibes kind of mantra thing he so often does). If you liked him in his others, you’ll like him here. The movie itself although completely predictable is cute and there are some funny lines. The two kids played by Alex Frost and Josh Peck is well done and the anxiety and excitement of entering Jr. High is well played by these two. The conflict between “the new kids” and the bullies gives nothing new but the characters played are well done- enough that I enjoyed the movie. There may be some “see now” ratings because of this character development but as an overall, no surprises plot, I have to give it a “good” rating.
