A dark comedy about CIA secret, which lands at the wrong hands. the movie was directed by the Coan Brothers, their first movie since "No Country for Old Men." It's a good movie, not a great film, but the a strong cast has helped gave it a mild yes vote. A former CIA man files fall in the hands of employees of a workout gym. The film is violent, but still watchable and funny. The cast includes John Malkovich, George Cloony, Tilda Swinton, Frances McDonmand and Brad Pitt in his first comedy in years. One scene inwhich a Mcdonmand and a date went into a movie starring claire Danes. I don't know if Danes was actually in this movie. I can only see her legs standing ontop of a tree branch. The Coen brother's best comedy since Fargo. In the North-Dakotan movie's vein, it revolves around a cast of self-inflated and indirectly connected characters thrown into a situation out of all of their hands when the importance of some accidentally intercepted "intelligence" is presumed more incriminating than it actually is. Great (though off-key) performances by Brad Pitt and George Clooney, and Frances McDormand delivers exactly what you hope she would. A couple of violent scenes, but not overtly gory. If you liked Fargo, you will like this. Sep 28, 2008
30 minutes into the film, I apologized to my husband for choosing it. The end was pretty funny, but it didn't make up for the first hour of the film which really just dragged on and on and was pretty stupid. There were some funny moments, which is the only reason I didn't vote Stay Away. Oct 1, 2008
