Jason Statham leads a huge british in "The Bank Job." A film that could be beter if there were more tension and suspense in this film. The film tells the true story of a bank herist that lead to a more shocking secret which involves the police in England. I was impressed with one performer name Hattie Maughan who played the girlfriend of a black leader. the reason why I'm mentioning her name is that the press has refused to do so. That's why I'm giving a honorable mention to her. I hope to see her again in another film. but "The Bank Job" is a near missed.

When done well, heist movies can be very entertaining. Instead of non-stop action, the building tension as the story goes from planning to execution, grabs your attention, and quickens your pulse as you watch it all unfold.

The Bank Job is an example of this. It takes an ensemble of likeable characters with a capable leader through the process of planning and executing a bank robbery. This crime has a twist, though, as they are breaking into safe deposit boxes filled with items belonging to people that would much rather not fill out a police report or insurance claim. An additional twist comes in due to the fact that British Intelligence is pulling the strings in order to get their hands on the contents of one particular box.

It's after the heist that things go sideways and the movie takes things to the next level and our thieves are caught between needing to make a deal not only with the intelligence agents, but also the bad guys who desperately want the contents of a porn king's safe deposit box returned and will kill anyone involved to get what they want.

How all this unfolds makes for an entertaining way to spend nearly two hours. It's done well enough that it caught me when I was channel-surfing, and I ended up watching the entire thing, even though I've seen it a couple times before. It's not like there are many layers that only multiple watchings will uncover, but rather it's just enjoyable to watch the story being told. It's worth checking out!
