"New in Town" isn't new in the "Fish Out of Water" formula. A better film is the 1991 film "Doc Hollywood." "New in Town" isn't anything new. Renee Zellweger plays a Miami businesswoman who was sent to Minnesota to determind the future of a factory.Zellweger did her best, but her best wasn't good enough. The townfolks must have been bused from a bad sitcon. Not enough smart was used in the screenplay. Garrison Keller knows plenty about Minnesota in the wintertime. Why didn't he wrote the script instead? there's movie featuring a leggy Zellweger. That is a desperate move. to add insult to injury, the film was shot in Canada, not in Minnesota.
