'Jonah Hex" comes off as a good comic book. I read the Jonah Hex comic books in the 1970's and 80's. But getting that comic character nto the big screen is a little difficult and the result is a half-baked production. The filmmakers who did the film, didn't even read the book. Josh Brolin did a great job as Hex, A type of role that Clint Eastwood could have played some 40 years ago. and Megan Fox's performance is nice. she should do more adult roles. Well it's better than being in cartoonish movies like "Transformers." The plot to the movie is silly. Hex is asked by the president GFrant to foil a terrorist attack on the captial. If you read the comic book, like I have, Hex is a type of guy that doesn't take orders from no one. The production is lukewarm. The film's running time is 80 minutes long. Animated cartoon movies seem to rum a little longer. I wanted to like the movie, but poor production values has kept the movie from doing anything special. Aug 4, 2010
Meh. Not bad enough to be bad, not good enough to be good. Josh Brolin tries is best, but he's surrounded by some odd casting, like comedy actor Will Arnett, trying to play it serious and being distracting. And, I'm no expert, but I doubt there was every a saloon working girl who was as good looking, expertly hair styled and professionally made up as Megan Fox is portrayed in this movie.
