"The Spy Next Door" is a terrible comedy. the film could've been a reworking or a rip-off of the Vin Diesel 2005 movie "the Pacifier." "the Spy Next door" is like that, except there are fewer kids and fewer laughs. Jackie Chan played a nerd who is assume he is retired from the spy business, until he is brought back to battle a sterotypical Russian spies. All talk cartoonish. While at home, Chan is dating the mother of three kids, all of them hated him until they are rescue by him and their opinion change about him. There are no laughs in this movie. Chan makes funny faces and does his usual kung fu and that is the movie. The Kids are equally annoying and the mother is away for most of the movie. This movie is totally empty and sad. Kids will probaby like this movie. but I've got a better movie called "Bandslam," which is much better than the stupid "The Spy Next Door." I even put "Bandslam" on the top 10 movies of 2009. "Bandslam" will be remember as a classic, while "The Spy Next Door," will be collecting dust on some video store aisle.
