This is not a comeback movie for Mel Gibson. Matter of fact, he never left in the first place. He directed two movies between 2002 and 2007 and he's pretty much in the business. "Edge of Darkness" is a lame thriller inwhich Gibson who played a Homicide Detective, is out to investigate the murder of her daughter which she is shot in front of him. The plot of the movie, although is based on the 1980's BBC series, looked like a plot borrowed from "Silkwood" and try making it into a thriller. Some parts of the film is boring, until the violence wakes up from that boardon. I can understand that gibson is a little shaky in his first starring role in nearly eight years, but he can't hold up this movie. I like the ending, but there are parts that need improvement.

Worth the money to watch and that's the main thing rifht?
I enjoyed it but there was a couple of slow places (developement of character).
I wish I did not go in knowing a little about the movie so the way it changed would have surprised me. Sometimes too much preview is bad.
Over all 3 stars.

Excellent, powerful, very emotionally moving film, if it wasn't for the language, I would have rated it a See Now. The story line was powerful and believable, the acting was excellent, this film should have a warning to bring a box of tissues.
