John Wayne goes to Ireland, looking for love and more in "The Quiet Man." A 1952 classic directed by John Ford, who is better known to direct classic westerns. In it Wayne returned to Ireland to lots of peace and quiet, but he won't get any of that. Wayne falls for Maureen O'Hara (the same O'Hara who appeared in the 1947 film "Miracle on 34th Street.") which leads to a love-hate relationship between them. This is a wonderful movie about the culture that surround Ireland and the traditions they uphold. One of the best fight scenes in movies also takes place in this movie. "The Quiet Man" is must-see cinema. Jul 21, 2003
A classic John Wayne film, and Maureen O'Hara was a perfect co-star. Very good movie. Looking for more opinions?Check out our Featured Movie Reviews for The Quiet Man. |
