A good movie that centers around the life of a criminal defense attorney played by Matthew McConaughey who is defending a Beverly Hills Playboy when he was accused of rape and attempted murder. The more he got involved in the case, the more dangerous it became. I love the chemistry between McConaughey and Marisa Tomei. That chemistry reminds me of the chemistry between Spencer Tracy and Katerine Hempburn in "Adam's Rib." I won't reveal the end of the movie, but you will be on the edge of your see. You will like this movie. Mar 25, 2011

Matthew McConaughey has a spotty track record with movies, so you're never quite sure what you're going to get when his name appears at the top of the movie's poster. Lincoln Lawyer is definitely smarmy McConaughey and not dramatic McConaughey, but that's OK because he doesn't go over the top and his charm fits his role perfectly. This is a very by-the-numbers mystery, but I still liked it. It had me interested and invested in the story and the characters through to the end. If there is anything that I could say would have improved the movie, it would be that I wanted to see more of Marisa Tomei's character, but maybe that would have tipped the balance of the movie too much. This is lite fare as mysteries go, but it's worth your time! Looking for more opinions?Check out our Featured Movie Reviews for The Lincoln Lawyer. |
