I saw "Central Station" in 1998 and it blew me away. This is one of those rare movies that came out of Brazil. Fernanada Montenegro won and Oscar nomination as a woman who writes letter for people who can't read. He befriends a boy Vinicius De Oliverira who is searching for his father. The close friendshiip between the two's friendship are as powerful as the city in which they lived. I love this movie because not of the chemistry between the woman and the boy, but a rare view of the mean streets of Brazil.
