\"The King and I\" isn\'t the best musical by Rodgers and Hammerstein. My favorite R+H musical is \"The Sound of Music.\" But we\'re talking about \"The King and I\" and I shall review. Deborah Karr stars as a teacher who along with her son goes to Siam to teach The King\'s children. The King is played by Yul Brynner in one of the best performance of his career. He like it so much that he went on to do live versions of the musical. The songs are memorable. One of my favorite scenes is Kerr teaching Brynner how to dance. I love every minute of the movie. A cartoon version was released in 1999 and it didn\'t have the magic of the original 1956 movie. Looking for more opinions?Check out our Featured Movie Reviews for The King and I. |
