I am a hopeless romantic (I loved You've Got Mail, Sleepless, and While You Were Sleeping for example). I thought this was a wonderful movie. After reading the 'featured critic' review, I have some different opinions.

The Featured critic says that the interaction between Theresa(Wright) and Garret(Costner) was awkward, but to me it was realistic. A great movie romance is one in which I can feel myself acting the same way.

Hopeless romantics, go see it.

This movie sucked. I won't say what happened, but just don't go see it. It's bad. It's so dumb. ICK! If you absolutely HAVE to see it, then defentately wait 'til it comes out on video, even though it's not worth paying one cent to see, let alone three bucks. So, DON'T go see message in a bottle. If you like Kevin Costner, or Robin Write, or both, or neither, no matter what, you'll be disappointed.

i think it is one of the most romantic movies i've ever seen because of the way they treated each other and that it seems that nothing could tear them apart; all though he loved his wife a lot at the end you really know what he feels; and the parts that i really like were the ones that they were in the sailing boat on the sea because i love sailing boats; this movie made me cry a lot because you could never think love dies at the sea.

I think the movie had a wonderful plot. Enough problems to be realistical yet not so far fetched it could only happen in a dream. I would recommend seeing it on the big screen with your loved one. See IT!!!

This was an unbelievable movie. The love this man has for his wife is something that all of us want. I would definitely recommend this movie to anyone with a heart. Just remember to bring a box of tissue! Go and see it, you won't be sorry. The music is great too!

A good date movie, you'll have her in your arms by the end of the film.

A lousy romantic drama about a man, played by Kevin Costner who found a botttle that was washed up on the shore of Lake Michigan and must fiind the owner. I like to wish filmgoers Good luck because, I found the film boring and stupid, despite the present of Robin Weight Penn and Paul Newman.
