Take your handkie and your kids. This true story about a teacher and the kids she teaches is too good to miss. It is the kind of movie we need to support if we really want to be a "kinder, gentler nation".

Roberta is a woman who must make a life for herself and her children after her husband leaves her for another woman. She does not see herself as strong yet in this tale learns to be strong for herself as she sets an example of strength by fighting for the establishment and maintenance of a violin program for students at an East Harlem, NY school. Based on a true story, this uplifting movie sends an inspirational message that is particularly valuable during this holiday season. Meryl Streep's acting is superb as usual and the story keeps your attention throughout. You won't be disappointed.

What's amazing about "Music from the Heart" that it's based on a true story about a woman (played by Meryl Streep), who teaches violin to a group of kids.

What I love about this movie is how music is taught from the heart and how it could be a life-firming experience to street kids. It's sad that the kids today never ever experienced, let alone listerned the pleasure of classical music like I have, but hopefully, "Music of the Heart" may turn this situation around.
