Jimmy Stewart plays a police detective, who is afraid of heights in "Vertigo." The film directed by Alfred Hitchcock is a film about murder, resurrection and the fear of ther unknown. Stewart plays Scottie Fergusion, a man who suffers from Acrophobia or a fear of heights, met and fall in love with Madeleine, played by Kim Novak, who may be the cloest thing to Grace Kelly. In one important scene in the movie, Stewart chases Madeleine up a tower. He can't climb any higher because of his fear of heights. He sees her fall to her death and Scottie suffers a nervous breakdown as a result. I'll tell you the rest of the movie, but you got to see it for yourself. The final hour of this film has plenty of twist and turns. Hitchcock is a great storyteller and one of great movies that he came up with is "Vertigo." Jul 21, 2003
